After the liberation of Kherson from Russian troops, many Ukrainian soldiers have been able to return home and be reunited with their families.

For some, it’s the first time they’ve been able to see their relatives and loved ones since the invasion by Russia began earlier this year.

While the region wears the battle scars from the Russian occupation, the scenes in Kherson in recent days have been joyous, with emotional reunions.

  1. Wow, I am in tears seeing them reuniting with loved ones. The awful stories of atrocities hurts my heart!
You are so strong Ukraine! The scars will heal and you will stand stronger and more united.
God Bless you all and Slava Ukraine! 💛💛💪🏼💪🏼🔱🔱💙💙

  2. Every time I here more about the atrocities committed by the Russian army, the more I feel like that in 10 years of this war's end, Putin will have just as many documentaries and books written about his crimes as Hitler and Stalin. And the very thought of that not happening, would be disrespectful to all the men, women and children he has murdered for his own vanity.

  4. Russians are mistreated and beaten dogs. Their regime forces them to be slaves and punishes them if they say they do not like being slaves. This is why these Russians, when given some power like a kalashnikov- behave like their, oppressors in the Kremlin. They have been brought up to believe that those that have power over someone can do with them as they place. This is why they love torturing unarmed civilians, raping children in front of mothers and torturing and executing POWs and civilians. They want to feel control over other people. They are pussies in battle and have no honor. They feel angry that Ukrainians resist as resistance is something they could never do.They commit war crimes because they want to prove to themselves that Ukrainians are just like them and under enough pressure they will also break. Russians commit war crimes because they feel resentful toward free people. They hate the fact that other people are not afraid to fight for freedom and choose to resist. Instead of choosing to fight for their own freedom, Russians want to force Ukrainians to accept what Russians have accepted for generations (acceptance of their own slavery, lack of rights and freedoms, blind obedience to the regime and fear of resistance).

  5. whenever i hear thoughts "Ukraine have to negotiate, maybe to give up some of its territory to avoid more deaths and devastation… etc" I always think about such moments. It's not about just territory. It's about people, their bonds etc. My home town in Kherson region is occupied, my parents are still there. I can't imagine how we can give up that people who are desperately waiting for liberation… I and many thousands others can't give up their parents, childhood, memories, homeland, Ukraninan homeland.
