A large group of community members, military organizations and veterans groups welcomed home Army Sgt. Will McKinney on January 8, 2012 with a motorcade salute. Will was wounded several months ago in Afghanistan and has been at Walter Reed Hospital during his rehabilitation. This is his first time home since deployed in March 2011. Will McKinney grew up in Plainfield, is a 2007 graduate of Plainfield Central High School, attended Plainfield United Methodist Church, where his mother Rev. Mary Gay McKinney was the former pastor, and more recently has attended Wheatland Salem United Methodist Church in Naperville with his father
